Neither is going to guarantee you anything, not "career growth" nor "high salary hikes". It's your ability to learn, teach yourself, adapt and interact with management on their level that will help with that, but nothing is going to guarantee it. Note, it has absolutely nothing to do with the one language or library you learn.
