hi
what is the purpose of this site, I would like to know since it doesnt seem to practice what it preaches. I had as a question here a while ago, maybe the content of this question probably was a bit long but the answer i got was rather insulting from one member called notpoliticallycorrect if that was his name

What I have tried:

this is just a question. this does not have to do with any programming question.

"rather insulting from one member", if you was insulted I am sorry you took it that but I said nothing insulting to you. IF it was the not-a-question I am thinking of, it was not a question at all but you wanted someone to spend their time and effort to check your homework assignment which was something that you could and should be doing yourself and is not a question at all.

This question will most likely be reported as off-topic since it really does not ask a development question. I do not know about your question but there can be a number of reasons why you can get an answer you may not like. The first item you should take into account that QA is that an actual very small percentage of CP users answer the majority of QA question. And all the people are doing this on their own time with no compensation.

We see question all the time the fall into a few categories, give me code, do my homework, I don't want to search Google, not really a question, not enough details provided, etc. You can see how people could react in a negative manor to question that fit this.

Don't take anything personally. Asking a question is also a skill that many people have to develop over time.

That isn't a QA question - I'd suggest that you ask it of the membership in general, perhaps by posting it here: The Lounge[^] where you will meet a wide range of member with diverse oppinions on the subject(s)...

I can't see the question you refer to, so I can't comment on the quality of your question, or of the comments / replies: I only see two questions from spring and summer of this year - both of which you could have solved very quickly with the debugger!

It is always a good idea to check how things work before posting a question. For example, did you read carefully the Code Project Quick Answers FAQ[^]?

I did ask a question but I didnt ask for anyone to do my homework for me, I have since deleted the question that I had ask. I was merely looking for way to improve on the codes that i had use not looking for anyone to do my homework for me.
