hey guys my friend gave me this old dell computer but it has windows xp i want to factory restore but it needs the cd which i dont have does any one know where i can dowload windows xp for free with key so i can burn it and re install it on the comp. i already have 2 computers with windows 10 but i want to use this old comp to practice my coding.because im learning how to program. if u can help me can u please send me the link and instructions i really apreciate it thanks

i tried calling dell but they said it was discontinued.

I might have an XP disc around here somewhere, but I wouldn't send you my key.

If you do not have the CD then you are stuck with it as it is. You can try Windows Update to see if it offers a path forward to 7 or 10.

Please move to a newer version or use some other OS. OS updates come with many features and security patches. So, if you want to use the old OS, you will be vulnerable to viruses.

Come on man, upgrade yourself. You can code on latest code editors and IDEs.

And you don't need Windows XP to learn how to write code.

Why can't you use Windows 10? Windows XP is obsolete.

For what? You don't need Windows XP for anything specific. Testing anything on it now-a-days is completely useless as XP hasn't been supported for quite some time.
