Hey I am just curious is it possible to take game data from a pc game and put it in another game engine without the source code to the original game you are taking to put into another engine just curious whats your thoughts on this.....

What I have tried:

No.
There are a lot of technical reasons for this, such as "it's like a car: can you take a piston from a Citroen Dyane and fit it to a Bugatti Veyron?" but mostly because it's a massive break of copyright and licensing T&Cs that you agreed to when you installed the game...

What if they still need the base game to even play the game in a new engine if they have to still buy the game to play the remaster then its not voiding copyright right??

Its like tweaking the textures and sounds of a game for example if you still have to buy the game itself to even play the modification then its not voiding copyright its still legal because you had to still buy the game itself before you installed the mod for the new textures and sounds so it would apply the same to putting the game in another engine but making it where you still need to purchase the game in order to play the new build so it would require some of the files in the game in order to run the new build so yeah Am I right here or ??

Wrong. Modifying the original game will also break the terms and conditions of playing it, especially so with online games.

You may be able to change out textures and other assets, but you can NOT change the game engine it's running on. That's a major breaking change that requires rewriting the code. Without the source, this is impossible.

You could write your own version of the game in another game engine, you MAY be able to use the assets of the original game, BUT you MUST get permission to do so, IN WRITING, from the original publisher of the original game. Good luck getting this because I don't know of any house that's going to allow it.

Alright thanks for the advice it helped for sure
"Game data" is data.

The "other" game / install will allow you to import; or it won't.

Same as for an "update". Previous data is retained or cleared; or it isn't.

In particular, "custom" maps / scenarios are often shared; with or without vendor support.
