Application pool stops randomly

Hi all

I have an application pool that runs for a while but stops randomly.
It sometimes runs for days and sometimes just a few hours and suddenly 'Service Unavailable 503'.

Log into the server and the application pool has stopped.
This web site has been in use for several years without a problem and this has only been happening in the last month or so.

There are other websites on the same server which do not ever stop.

There is only one site using this app pool...

There is nothing in the event log or the web logs.

Where else can I look?

What I have tried:

Trawled the event logs and web logs, nothing in any of them.
Googled but they always suggest it is the service user, not the case as it does run for a while.

Event log should be recording the app pool starting and stopping. So, my guess is there is stuff in the event log even if you do not think it is important.

Thanks for the reply.
You are quite right, I was looking in the application logs but it was in the system logs.
There was a message saying that it had been disabled due to a series of failures.
Investigating ...
