This is a general question about Visual C++2010 and C#2010. What are the advantages \ disadvantages of the 2 languages. I am used to VC6.0 and have decided to drag myself in to the 21st century, and am unsure as to which language to pick up on and learn more about. I have been looking at C# and have got about half way through the book (Sams Visual C#2010 in 24 Hours)) and not found too many differences between my knowledge of VC6 and what the book is telling me about C#(other than in using strings).
I am also not finding the book particularly easy to read - to me it seems to leave big chunks out, and the example source code does not always seem to work. Is there a better book out there to read - I am using express edition of C++ \ C#.
Thanks for any advice that you can offer.

Been using C# for nearly a decade now, still find this site's tutorials section of great use for reference:

Never been a big fan of programming books - unless you buy another you're stuck with the same version (typos, mistakes, wrong context) and you can't copy and paste :-D
