Which is better tool and programming language to automate WPF UI controls

I have been working as a manual tester in start up and domain is trading. application UI is wpf and backend are wcf services.so i want to automate all UI test cases with python.Is it possible?

What I have tried:

1)I have gone through coded UI but i don't want to use C#.
2)Can i use pywinauto?will it create any issues.

If anyone explain how coded ui is better than pywinauto,then i will work on C#.
