I don't know that just getting "certified" in MVC application development is worthwhile. I haven't looked into microsoft certs in a few years but they were more lumped into things like Microsoft Certified Application Developer which requires you to be well versed in winforms/wpf, web, and other aspects of the .net framework.
Getting certified in such a narrow path may not be worthwhile unless you are finding employers that are specifically asking for "asp.net mvc certifications".
In my personal experience, certifications are only worth the paper they are printed on, usually employers want to see some sort of demonstrable knowledge of development vs paper certifications.
