I am using vb 2008 and using SQL Server 2008. To print reports I am going to use SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services.
Is it possible to

----Send direct to printer rather than via preview
----Save as a PDF

If possible, how is this done?

This blog post[^] is about the closest you're going to get to direct printing.

If you want a PDF, read the documentation on SSRS. It's a standard option. You can also Google for ssrs 2008 pdf C#[^] for code samples.
