Compatibility Issue regarding IE7 and IE8

IE 7.0/FireFox 3.5 : Displays the selected item in the listbox even when the listbox is in disabled mode.

IE 8: Not shown selected item when the listbox is in disabled mode but when leist box is enabled it show the selected item
I have search a lot but couldn't find any solution.If you have any idea regarding this issue please help me.

Try putting IE8 into compatibility mode.

You can't force every client to do that. That's not a solution IMHO.
