Customize installation in VS .Net 2008

Hi Friends, I have a multiproject solution that i am building a setup.exe file for distribution to friends to use on other machines. One of the project is named installer is responsible for writing some files on the users Application folder so that the program can run. The problem i need solving is to make windows use the installer project to get these important files during installation. Please any form of help will be welcomed.I hope my description of the problem is comprehensible. Thank you.
