sql server express 2008 visual studio 2005 compatibility

Hello,
I have vs 2005 express and sql server 2008 express installed, when I try to make a connection with vb .net 2005 or vc# .net 2005 I get an error -25 and see no sql client for connection only net framework, is there anything I can do or vs 2005 and sql server 2008 are not compatible?

No, there is nothing you can do.

MSDN has a support article giving the solution: An update is available that lets you use Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 together with SQL Server 2008[^] however it is only applicable to VS 2005 Professional and Team editions - it does not support the Express edition.

Your best bet is to drop VS 2005, and upgrade to VS2008 Express, or VS2010 Express which will work with SQL server 2008
