Hello,

I have an installed MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2005 on my windows xp, I'm trying to connect to a local server, but local servers window is empty.
I tried to check the SQL Services, but surprisely, there is no sql server service in my Service list.

anyone can help me?

Did you select the server option during installation? It could be possible that only client components were installed.

As already suggested you may have installed only the client. Also check the requirements. All of the editions cannot be installed in XP. For example if you have Enterprise, you won't be able to install the server portion to a client operating system.
