How to populate a value in DataGrid view

hi,

i'm want to populate the record count in a DataGrid view.

i.e. I have atable called employee; from this employee table, I want to list the count of trainees, contractors, permanent employees in a GridView in my Application.

Can anyone help me how to do this.
