extract only the hand from image

hi all
in hand gesture recognition and detection,after the step of detecting hand color skin, the image may contain the hand and other objects whose color resemble skin color( like faces),but in my application i want only the hands,so can you help me of some way to extract only the hands from an image?

In the same way as you detect a face, you have to train the algorithm to recognise hands........there are a few excellent image recognition articles on CodeProject, go search for them.
