I'm writing a windows service in VS 2010 and using VB as my language. When I compile the service and then try to install the service onto a 64 bit machine that has 2008 R2 as the OS. It still wants to install the service as a 32 bit software. Does anybody have any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

When you compile it, change the target CPU: x64

I did do that and it still wants to install the software under Program Files (x86) folder. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks.
