anyone knows where i could find a sample source for a proximity reader, i know i would need a component for this and that theres a lot SDK out there (but it is being sold along with a VB.net sample), anyone?

what kind of reader do you have and what is the interface you're using to connect to it?

You're looking for a solution in VB.net. Then you go on that the SDKs come with a VB.net sample. Where is the problem then?
