visual studio 2010 ultimate edition is not getting installed on windows 7 home basic edition.

Hi All,

I have purchased new dell laptop with windows 7 home basic edition.

I am trying to install VS 2010 ultimate edition on my new laptop but its getting errored out.
I suspect my VS 2010 is 32 bit copy as I was working on 32bit before.

But then I googled and seen that 32 bit software can be installed easily on 64bit machine in programfilex(x86) folder.

I am getting this error in log -

Try installing all the windows 7 service packs first.

Are you installing 64 bit copy of VS2010 in your 32 bit windows 7 os?

Try getting a fresh copy of the installer. You must have a link or disk if it is a legal copy.

From the error, it's either a bad hash (or CRC) or something is causing a problem calculating the checksums correctly.

If you don't have a good and fiable Internet connection, it might be problematic to get a valid file of such size.

Ensure that your file is valid on another computer first.

Visual Studio works on both 32 and 64 bits computer. I don't know about Home Basic edition... According to my search it seems to works... But not sure if might have some specific limitations (for example, I don't think IIS would be available).
