How to develope desktop applications with lightweight SQL Server 2008 R2 Express which will work as a server

I have checked this above link; Before i tell my problem i must mention what i want to do.
There is a desktop application and i want to set that application database is in SQL lightweight version.
I have already downloaded SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Lightweight version; but it was not worked as a server.

I can access my database only from that computer where i have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Lightweight version. But i want to access the database from each computer which are on the same network.

I think i can express my problem.
Any one have any solution for this problem?

Solution 1

If you use SQL Server Express[^], then you can access the database from every computer on the network - it is (as the name suggests) a database server system and is designed to do just that. Are you sure you downloaded the Express edition, rather than SQLite?
