I am trying to read a disk given to me to view, codec required is
a gmp4 file but doesn't seem to be working, what could be wrong.

Solution 1

You need to find a place to download the codec, and then install it. I found a few places on google to get it, but since I don't just willy-nilly download crap off the net, I'm not going to suggest one place over another.
