Solution 2

Unfortunately, VB6 is not the tool to write AV software in. Ideally, with AV software, you want to use something that gets you as close to the kernel as possible. Attempting this in VB would push it to the limit, and probably beyond, as you would be making such extensive use of the API that you might as well have coded it in C in the first place.
