Can somebody please advise me on the best database to use (SQL Server 2008, Oracle 11g) for handling large data loads? On an average, around 10k records will be inserted into the database. Since our data load is huge we are looking for the best in class database that can perform well under huge data loads and provide the best data warehousing support.

Thanks & Regards,
Girish

10k a second, hour, day?

Both database engines and most RDBMs can handle these loads easily, the question is always which you are comfortable using and supporting.

Hi Mehdi,
The database grows at the rate of 10k per hour. So which do you think is the better option?

Thanks.

Use the comments, do not post solutions if you need more assistance.
Oracle or SQL Server anyone can be used to manage the large volume of data. In my opinion if the database is much secure then it is preferred to use the Oracle Database
