Hi all,

I have had problems with my SQL Server 2008 R2
so I had to uninstal. I removed it completely
from the system, but now I tried to instal it
again and it only runs and instals the support
files. After that nothing happens.

Please can anyone help me with this.

When I uninstall that item it wants to browse for this "c:\b2fe4f480bc6ba1c7ba978\1033_ENU_LP\x86\setup\sqlsupport_msi\"

After the uninstallation manually delete working directory and regitry of SQL Server 2008 R2 and install it once again.

Yes I did do that it still doesn't want to go on with the installation
Hi,

After un-installation check if all SQL Server related installations are removed from "Add/Remove software" (inside controlpanel)

uninstall through SQL server installer only. that way it will completely removed.

thanks

I have one entry left in the uninstall in control panel "Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup (English)", but I cant uninstall this entry. It shows it cannot uninstall because SQL Commin Files and SQL Database Engine Shared is still installed
