You know, there's a subtle distinction between a 'skilled developer' and a 'developer certified of being skilled'.

Dear Friend,

Relevant professional certifications are a great way to show a level of expertise and commitment to your field.

Mentioning in resume that you are certified in a particular field will definitely help you bring distinction among those job seekers who are not certified, considering that you are well aware of the technology in which you have certification otherwise it's of no use.

Being a certified person will definitely help the recruiter to know in advance that of which field you are master of and he/she can easily judge you on the basis of interview questions asking it from your field only.

It's like an added advantage on your resume. But yes having more knowledge in particular area or technology will give more advantage to your resume than to have a certification.

Thanks

It may improve your chances of getting another job, but there is no guarantee. Most employers are more interested in solid experience than paper qualifications.
