WHY do you want to use JAVA?
Do you need JAVA?
Can you get the same functionality with a regular CMS (PHP-based)?

3 important questions that should be answered. Java is not the answer to all questions - probably most but not all.

There are entire open source web sites dedicated to nothing but providing and sharing, and developing java code. There are tons of tutorials dedicated to java coding.
Some of mostly accessed websites are:

Hi deemuu,

Check out https://github.com/jadekler/git-java-websiteskeleton; this is a pretty simple java website skeleton (using the Spring framework) with some examples for displaying html pages, and some examples for how to build an API. It's built to be very lean and easily extended upon.

Hope this helps!
