Putting a pattern on a shape in flash

I have created 5 shapes in flash through actionscript 2(circle,triangle etc..)

What I want to do is using code I want to put patterns on these shapes instead of them been a solid colour. *I do not want to draw this on the image I want to do it through code*

Example - I want the triangle to be stripped with a different colour & I want the circle to have poka dots all over it!

If anyone can help with a code example I would be very grateful or even a tutorial..
