hey! what the Student version is?
or what is meant by Student version as per you ?

Do your homework before asking here.

Mono Develop or #develop are alternative IDEs for .Net framework (among other things).

My 5, by I would add Mono Develop is primarily for Mono and was not originally available on Windows (if I'm not much mistaken, it's available now).

The free version is Express - it's available here, but not just to students: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/express[^]

There is a Academic version (which isn't free but is heavily discounted) which is the full version of VS, but limited to a single PC - as in once you have installed it, it won't install on a different PC should you upgrade your laptop.
