Validation firing not correctly

Hi,

I have got two different user controls for login.One is in an ajax pop up extender and another one on the top right side.What happens is that when i click the login button in pop up extender the validation in the other user control fires. Separate validation groups are given in two user controls.What may be the possible reasons for this ?
