how to do auto login.

Hi all

My problem:
Example:
I have website name www.abcd.com
and my forum url is www.abcde.com
if any user registered in my website can log in into the forum using my username and password but not vice versa(the forum user can not log in to my website).

When i click a button on from my website it will go to the form main page of the forum for the user not the log in page of the forum.

Please Help

Do you mean - the user should be able to log in to GMail using your website username-password combination? That is not possible. You will need a valid user credentials to login to GMail account.

Please do not do this - this is what detail grabbing, nasty, hacking websites do and anyone who uses your website for this is a fool (or any other website that tries to do this). Why do you want to do this anyway? What's wrong with the GMail login as it is?

Adding to what has already been said, many users (such as myself) are logged in to gmail by default. Why should I type my username and password in your website when my browser can remember it for me? Simply take users to the gmail site and have them login there if they're not already logged in.

Actually i have given a wrong example.

i have a button in my website from where the user can directly logged into the forum and the main page of the forum will display not the log in page.

Okay but you shouldn't just completely change the question... Q&A remains so that other people can view answers to solve there issue. What we now have with this question is two questions in one where the original question is lost, and thus the comments made useless. Anyway, you will need to store in a database that is available to both websites which users logged in and from where. Also store IPAddress of login location. Finally, detect when users log in from same IP address and log them in accordingly. However, this has some flaws that you will need to research, namely it is not machine/computer user specific. One house has the same IP address so two computers in the same house would be detected as the same. You will need to use a combination IP address and cookie setting to fix this. Rsearch further in Google.
