Hello,

I was trying my hands on Windows 8 Metro Applications (VS 2011 C#).
And i was wondering if there is anything like Local Database or
SQL CE.
I read somewhere that to store data we have to use Cloud.
But then i m not sure.
Please anyone can tell what options are there for the backend
in a Windows 8 tablet Metro Style App.

Thanks in advance.

From what I read, VS2011 will be having LocalDb (from SQL 2012) installed with it instead of SQL Express. Even WP7 now have the ability to use SQL CE, so there should not be a need to worry about using the cloud for all of your data. Of course I do that for one of my WP7 apps but it also is on iOS and Android as well all sharing data.
