Linked server in a maintainance plan

Hi,
i have created a linked server name(xyz) and i am using it in a stored procedure.it is working fine,but when i add this stored procedure under the maintenance plan under management of sql server.When i try to execute this plan i get following error in sql server agent log.
The task was initiated by user sa,executed as ituser.and it was failed.
I am not able to figure the exact error,i guess issue is when sql server agent tries to use linked server,because other plan is executing well.

Does the user the job is executing as have permissions to the linked server?

in the step properties of sql server agent job,i had selected ssis package where as it should have been t-sql statement.solved ah!
