Creating a site that has search engine capabilities

I been tasked with a task to create a website with search engine capabilities...
I've been reading on articles posted here and they have been very helpful. but what I seek is the ability to have a function like how google operates. As soon as the user starts typing it suggests, and when they click on search be it the whole word/part of it, it returns details regarding everything that includes the search topic in the database, then the user clicks on the appropriate search that they require and a pop appears will all the relevant info.

Example: I have a table with employee details.
As soon as the user types K all the employees whose name start with K come up. If user continues and types Kevin, all the employees with the name Kevin be it first name come up, and then they click on the user appropriate. Kind off like the address book in outlook
