How to send data to remote peer over internet

I need to build an application to transfer data from one peer to another (p2p) application. where both of the systems can be over diffrent networks (diffrent IPs or even ISPs)
How can i track the public then private IP address of machine to transmit data to.. ?

Solution 1

Private addresses aren't much use to you, because you can't connect to them

You either need a brokering system on an intermediate machine, or you need to look at UPnP[^], to handle NAT
