how to update tile in a metro application periodically for every 10 mins

i have created a windows service.And my metro application uses this windows service to display details.I have to update the tile periodically using my api's in the service for every 5 mins. i'm unable to update the tile.... can you please help me out??

Sounds like a really bad idea. Don't you have some real events used to update the UI, only when if something really changed?

yes , I need to update the tile only when the data is changed.

Then you don't need your 5 min refresh, a bad thing. You need to describe what is changed and how, what's the purpose of it and what's the problem? What did you try and why failed?
