ms word 2007 compare option

Hi all,

while am using compare option in ms word 2007, it shows compared, orginal, revised documents in a window. i can edit the compared result, but cant edit the original and revised documents. i have tried almost every option. but in vain. can any one say how to make this as editable. if i edit anything means then it shows "the modification is not allowed because selection is locked. how to resolve this problem??????????

when comparing two documents, option "mark as final" gets disabled. first pane shows compared result. if you clicked in this pane then option is enabled.But its disabled when you clicking pane 2(original doc) and 3(revised doc). i need to edit the text present in pane 2 and pane 3. provide cracking option or solution.
