The question makes no sense at all. White spaces are entered by pressing a long bar at the lower edge of the keyboard, and "empty characters" never existed. There is such thing as the empty string though; and I'm going to tell you exactly how to enter it: do nothing. By the way, this method of "entering of empty characters" could greatly improve this question. :-)
