Client endpoints in WCF

I am unable to understand why we define client endpoints in our service config.
I understand what are endpoints on service side but defining endpoints under <client> tag is my question???Can somebody please throw light on this.Thanks in advance</client>

Solution 1

In the client you are basically describing the endpoint you want to talk to. The proxy can then determine if the address you provided matches the endpoint you expect to connect with. A way of avoiding this is to implement a proxy for the client to consume.
