hey guys,

i have been talking to some of my friends about making rpg games and i have made a lot of rpg games in game maker and a lot of text-based rpg games in c#, but then one of my friends said something. He said the words 'multiplayer' and 'online'. And then it struck me. I consider myself as a good game maker, i can make good games, i just can't make textures for them so they look really bad. I have been making rpg games for about 1.5 years and i have made some good ones that i still play. Games like minecraft that there just isn't an end and there are a million things to do in it. But i have never actually thought of giving these games to people, posting up a video on youtube or putting up a download on some website because i just didn't think that it would take off, so i was wondering, is there a way to make an online, text-based game? here is an example...

i open the program and it connects to the game server. I then login or make an account. If i make a new one, then i also make a new character to play as. I go online and talk to people, look around, find stuff, battle creatures to get exp (keep in mind that this is going to be all text-based) and then i can go to maybe a shop, sell some items and buy some items.

Is there a way that i am able to do this in C#?

If you feel like new to it, I really cannot understand in which way you could be "a good game maker". No, maybe in fact you are, in certain sense, I just have trouble to imagine it.

As to the question... Why do you think it's answerable? Is there a way you are able... Probably yes, but who knows what are you capable of? I'm ready to believe you are, but... what's hard to believe: if you were, how come you would ask about it? :-)
