Connecting to database SQL server 2008 in remote machine having dynamic IP

My database is in a Server which has dynamic IP address.
can I give server name instead of IP address in connection string.

That is very surprizing that your server has a dynamic IP.

Anyways The solutions could be :

1. Instead of providing IP, provide servers hostname as 01HW2001B.DOMAIN.COM
2. Most of the time providing Sql server instance name also works e.g. 01HW2001B-express
3. Get a static IP ... last option.
