How to create a program to install a driver

Hello to everybody,

which is the api function that i have to call to install my own driver under windows xp/7, suppose I have all files need by driver (cab, inf, ...) which is the step that I have to do to create my own program to install it?

Thank you for your replay, I don't need a tools I need which dll function I have to call to perform installation, I take a look into "Driver Package Installer" probably I'll find some information here, thank you so much!

Solution 1

Inno_Setup[^] is free and can be quite flexible because of scripting. Not sure if for drivers will be ok, though. You can have a look.
