Upload image/document to SharePoint list

Hi!

I'm working with a SharePoint list. I'm buildning a Visual Web Part, and i want to upload a image/document to my SharePoint list (with the fileupload control). Googled for several hours with less results and i want to ask you guys here if anyone knows if it's possible or not, if yes, please help me out :)
