sharepoint 2010 Timer jobs vs windows task scheduler

Hi All,


currently i am facing a scenario of uploading documents from FTP (central folder) to sharepoint document library (2010) at certain interval. I have two options in front of me i.e writing console application and deploying it as exe in windows task scheduler or writing sharepoint timer jobs and deploying it in the farm. Please let me know, which is better way to do it and its advantages.


Any help would be appreciated.
