Hi,

on one of my computers I have a folder with a lot of sub folders and files....

I did several backups in the past, by zipping the father folder and storing the zip on my backup systems....

Now I recognized, when I uzipped that zip file, that it does not contain all the content of the original zipped folder...

The computer runs Windows 10 and the file system is NTFS.

Why are not all sub folders and files zipped?

Now I tried it several times. I used 7 zip. Durring zipping no error message is shown. Zip file is created and everything looks fine.

But as I said, when I later unzip it, only 40% of the original content is unzipped....

So why does 7zip not put all the stuff into that zip file ?

Thanks in advance for good hints...

What I have tried:

As I wrote above, after beeing aware of the problem... I used 7 zip several times, to zip that entire folder into a new zip file.... Afterwards I unzipped it and I saw that not all of the original content is present... only round about 40% of files and folders...

We can have no idea - we have no access to your file system, or to the archives you created.

On top of that, this is a development site; we handle problems producing code not using it. Contact 7-Zip[^] - they have a support forum and will know more about their software than we will!

We're not 7-Zip support. They have their own forums[^] on SourceForge.
