I have a nested gridview that is using javascript to expand and contract parent rows to show child rows. The problem is that if I do a postback or refresh the gridview collapses.

Solution 1

Try to save the state of the expanded/collapsed rows in a cookie everytime the row visibility changes if that option is available - meaning if cookies are enabled onthe client computer.
