Unable to print from dot matrix printer through windows server 2008 r2

Hi
We are using a custom asp.net application with SQL Server Express Database. This is currently hosted on windows xp operating system and all functionality is working

We had recently purchased Windows Server Licence, and we are trying to host the application on Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. The application is successfully hosted and running, however we are unable to get printout of the bills on a dotmatrix printer. We are able to get printout to a laser / inkjet printer, but are unable to get printout to dotmatrix printer only.

Please advise how we can resolve this issue

Solution 1

Check with the printer manufacturers as to whether they have a printer driver for the version of Windows Server that you are using.

If your ASP.NET code is now running on the server and you're expecting to be able to still print to any printer connected to the client machine, that's not going to happen. Your ASP.NET code runs entirely on the server and it will not have any access to anything attached to the client machines.
