the CRTL+F search window has a small font that I can't change


What I have tried:

options
environment
font and color


in the menu
search results window

I changed font size from 9 to 12, but it has no effect

There is (as far as I know) no way to change the font size of just that one window.
However - and you probably don't want to do this - you can change it as part of "everything else":
"Tools ... Options"
"Environment ... Fonts and Colors"
"Show settings for:" select "Environment"
Change the font from "Automatic" to any font in teh list, and you can select the size.
"OK" will ... well, probably make VS very ugly, if I'm honest ...

Be aware this will affect loads of other stuff at the same time!

This should be considered a bug in VS. Because if you increase the size of the Find/Replace window (9 by default), the rest of the environment gets a much larger font (not the requested size), making it barely usable.
