validation check issue in MVC as page is submitted using anchor tag.

I have implemented validation for a form Using attributes in Model. When i use <input> tag of submit type then form will not be submitted untill validation are false.but when i using anchor tag onclick submittion then form is submitting without checking client side validation. I want to use anchor tag. and want to fire client side validation
