Better to post in the Spam & Abuse Watch forum.

PIEBALDconsult has flagged this member in the Spam & Abuse forum. The original post seems to have been edited but is still inappropriate, and your article has a second one from the same member. Please ignore the troll.

Yes, that's because this "question" wound up in moderation and I approved it, so I added the report.

Click on the member's name in the message and it will take you to their home page. You can then copy their URL in order to report them as a spammer or troll.

1 solution

To sum up for any other member who is looking for how to report spam or abuse ...

We do not tolerate spam: advertising a product or service without paying for advertising space. This would disincline paying advertisers whose revenue pays for the servers, staff, and such like that the site requires to remain free to all.
This includes "free trials" of paid-for products.

We do not tolerate abuse: religious, racial, sexual, political, or swearing. If someone using it towards your kid sister would upset you don't use it. Abusive language aimed at any other member is a bad idea.

We have a automated system which is trained to detect most spam, and some abuse - it will block some messages from being posted and direct them to a moderation queue for a human to review and decide on, but it isn't perfect - some dodgy material can get through occasionally (but it learns from that as well, and does a better job next time).

We have a forum specifically for reporting spam and abuse: Spam and Abuse Watch Discussion Boards[^]
If you see spam or abuse copy the link to it, and a link to the member and post it there - you will see what format we normally use, there is a lot of it as it includes the rejects from the moderation system. Users can then vote to kick a member off the site. It requires a number of votes to remove a message or member as a safety measure.

If your reputation is high enough, you may also see a "red flag" next to a member or message which will allow you to mark them as a spammer or abusive. This does not automatically kick them off, and it doesn't add a report to the Spam & Abuse forum - you need to do that manually.

Please do note that malicious reporting because you don't like a member will be treated as abusive behavior and get you kicked off, not them!

Something confusing for me: What is behind 'Cliff Nelson Beckman' vs. 'Clifford Nelson'?

Your guess is as good as mine ...

Kind of strange, because serial killers are always referred to using three names. :)

Does "You?! Arrrrgh!" count?
