If you're not particularly interested in having multiple applications connect to your database server at once, and this is just for a standalone application, you might want to consider using a different database such as
SQLite[
^].
This simply relies on created a file somewhere on the file system, eliminating the need for a fully-fledged server installation. You may need to adjust your application though to behave differently, however if you're using EntityFramework I'm sure the transition would be fairly easy.
If you
are interested in multiple applications access the database, you'd probably want them to install the database on a server somewhere in the network (once) and have all applications connect to it. Though, that's not very secure so I'd instead recommend building a
REST API[
^] instead.
