How to make Distributed Systems

I want to make a distributed system using power of all Computer connected in LAN. I want to use Main memory,Processor,Secondary Memory of all the computers for performing a single task. I need to use these resources to Host a localhost at my university. So how come i do this. Is there any free-ware software. Or do i need to make setup manually over the server ?

Please tell a bit in detail.
